DESCRIPTION
-A great oppty. for an inquisitive corkscrew collector to start a new "corkscrew meeting collectibles" category that recognizes the different corkscrews that were used to recognize the annual meeting of one of the corkscrew collectors associations over the years.
Listed below are 6 different corkscrews and 1 hockey puck that were used to recognize an annual meeting and are listed numerically below:
1. Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club (C.C.C.C.): WHITE BOWTIE corkscrew & bottle opener marked "1992 Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club, 1992 AGM, Avon. Ct." Includes the BowTie instruction booklet. Bowtie handle length is 5.5".
2. C.C.C.C. "A HOLE IN ONE GOLF BALL CORKSCREW" marked on the golf ball "CCCC AGM, Napa Valley, 1998" and comes with original box, golf tee functions as the corkscrew sheath and small green tee holder. Overall height is 5".
3. C.C.C.C. Combo. pocket style corkscrew, cap lifter and bladed knife tool marked "Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club, 10th Anniv. AGM, July 27/28, 1981, Ontario, Canada " Overall length is 4".
4. C.C.C.C. chrome plated combo. waiter's tool with corkscrew, bottle opener and screwdriver in original box and marked on the side panel "C.C.C.C. AGM Sydney 2006 25th Anniversary". Overall length is 4.5".
5. Puig 1991 US Patent Ratcheting Up Side Rack Lever PUIGPULL (ScrewBase LSr101) with burgundy color handle and marked "Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club" on the handle. Also marked "PuigPull Pat. & Pat. Pending, Spain" on the inside of shaft: Overall length is 5". Operate-- after penetration of the cork, the lever ratchets up the toothed post to easily remove the cork. Includes a plastic display with directions.
6. Herbert Allen 1983 US Patent SCREWPULL (ScrewBase SAo010) all plastic frame with cork guide and full length wire helix. Marked "SCREWPULL" on 1 side of the frame and the ICCA logo 1974 is shown on the opposite frame side. Herbert Allen was an early supporter of the ICCA and each member received an early version corkscrew. Overall length is 6". OPERATION: As the worm enters the cork, the stop element eventually comes to rest upon the bottle rim. With no place for the stop element to go, continuous turning causes the cork to rise from the bottle upon the worm and enter into the stop element. In some cases where the frame or barrel is long enough, the cork exits the bottle entirely; in others where the stop element is shallow, as in the case of a bell or cup, the cork exits only partially and the job has to be finished off with a gentle pull. This is known as a "Partial Puller" and is typical of American Self Pullers.
7. Not a corkscrew BUT an official souvenir PUCK of the ICCA's 2005 Scrue-Cruise AGM to Anchorage, Alaska. Marked "Alaska 2005 Scrue-Cruise" with ship logo on top of puck and on the side of the puck "OFFICAL CZECH REPUBLIC GULFEX". BTW, it could have been used for a hockey game if stranded on an iceberg off the coast of Alaska(but we were never stranded!)
