Every collection needs 2 or 3 unusual collectibles that look like a corkscrew / corkpuller and this lot offers the opportunity for story telling.....(from top of photo)
Rarely seen 30" long steel T-type corkscrew shape with "T" handle and wire helix that has the potential to pull a big cork from a barrel. No markings The story is that this was used in the early 1900's to pull paper and packing materials from large shipping containers, etc.
Another rarely seen 24" long steel T-type cork puller / extractor with "T" handle and "hook" that also has the potential to extract a large cork from a barrel. No markings. The same story here in that it was used in the early 1900's to pull paper and packing materials from large shipping containers.
In over 40 years of corkscrew hunting, I have only found these storied pieces more than 20 years ago. Not yet listed in ScrewBase but it may happen in the future. Satis. guaranteed.
No history yet in this auction's "Past Sales" section but this sale could create a new category.
